Vixen R150Sf Telescope
The use of state-of-the-art coating technology yields the ideal surface for its f/5 primary mirror. The visual observer will enjoy wide views of deep sky objects. Actual groups of nebula or clusters can be viewed at the same time with this optical tube. This little brother of the R200SS, is a big performer and features a sliding focuser. The GP2 equatorial mount comes with tripod and counterweight. It is easy to use and functions well for both the visual observer and astrophotography. The declination and right-ascension functions with 144-tooth aluminum worm gears allowing accurate tracking. Motion is controlled by included control knobs for accurate slewing. The polar altitude adjustment varies from 0° to 62° in altitude. Optional single axis or dual axis motors and controllers are available as is a polar alignment telescope and setting circles. Add the new Vixen Starbook S with built in starchart for full Go-To capabilities. Package includes NPL20 and NPL6 eyepieces. The SPHINX equatorial mount and STARBOOK controller have been intelligently engineered for high-speed automatic location of celestial objects. It is now possible to explore the beauty of the night sky with greater ease and stability. The SPHINX comes standard with built in motors and the world's first star chart go-to controller, STARBOOK, with a large full color LCD display. The Sphinx's design is exceptional and the exterior styling is equally attractive. Main features of the SPHINX equatorial mount: 180-tooth worm gears for fine full circle motion. 22lbs. recommended loading capacity for a wide range of optical tubes. Built in DC motors allow for improved motion of the polar axis rotation and to reduce the need for heavy counterweights. A retractable counterweight shaft assists in easy storage and transportation. The mount is available on a SX-HAL310 heavy duty aluminum tripod. An optional illuminated polar axis scope can be easily added to the mount body. The mount utilizes the standard Vixen dovetail bracket for attachment of telescopes. Power: 12V, center pin positive. The STARBOOK features a display on the large color screen and are navigated with simple buttons on the controller. The STARBOOK is easy to use and makes the SPHINX available to a wide range of ages and experience levels. The STARBOOK incorporates a large astronomical database with 22,725 celestial objects. A LAN Port within the controller allows for computer control and network connectivity. The STARBOOK is also compatible with an auto guider (including SBIG ST). The auto-guider port comes standard on all controllers.
